Knit-Alongs We love to knit and we love company, so we schedule many knit-alongs. Usually, knit-alongs have a theme, or are centered around a specific project. Because they are social gatherings and not classes, we'll list the skills necessary for each project. They are always free, and you are welcome to bring other projects to work on if you wish. Copyright rules usually do not allow us to make copies of patterns, so we ask that you own, purchase or print the pattern you will use. KNIFTY GIFTY KNIT-ALONG Join us on Thursdays from noon-2pm and *knittle away at your gift list. Each project in the series takes just a few hours to complete. Think of this as free coaching sessions to enable you to get your gift knitting done in time for the holidays! We'll get together each week with inspiration to keep your fingers busy. The knit-along is free to attend. *knittle (verb) to periodically spend small increments of time knitting, thereby whittling away at a larger goal, such as a major project or the completion of many small projects December Schedule:
A similar headband was spotted recently at an
upscale New York City craft show for $45. You know what you can make it for!
(hint-uses one ball) What makes it so special is that it can also be worn as a
neckwarmer http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pico
Thursday Dec. 16, 2010 12-2 "Lost Earring" Knit Cowl Thursday Dec. 23, 2010 12-2 Triple Twisted Drop Stitch Scarf This scarf is made with an easy to learn stitch (If you can cast on and knit
a stitch-you can make this scarf). It works best using a very bulky yarn,
or even 2 bulky yarns in different colors held together. You can start it
on the 9th and have it ready to wrap by Saturday-it's that fast! If you
have a skein or two of bulky weight in your stash, bring it. One skein of
each of 2 colors makes a good sized scarf.
